The following benefits are included with the monthly membership of the Digital Quality Implementers’ Community

  • Accelerated Adoption of CQL Improvement: The community is focused on maturing the standard and ensuring any changes are fully tested before adoption. DQIC members regularly review all proposed changes.

  • Direct Influence on Standards Development  CMS, ONC and Veteran’s Health Administration are observers and come to the developer working meetings. In addition, NCQA is an active member, providing open source code and all members freely share testing techniques and even unit-level test cases to ensure as automated tests are developed, they will work across.

  • Collaborative Environment: DQIC already has a diverse group of stakeholders, including key representatives from both established technology leaders as well as leaders in FHIR. There are representatives from Google, Microsoft, Firely, Smile HD, and several “quality” technology vendors including Cozeva, Carrera, and others.

  • Insights on Regulatory Compliance and Federal Insight Leavitt Partners, as a convener, provides insights from other key initiatives that may impact quality as well as interoperability.

  • Recognition and Leadership, DQIC offers a unique opportunity to showcase leadership in health care technology and policy—beyond just HL7. Last year, DQIC was featured at the NCQA conference, and this year already, DQIC and the changes made to CQL were featured at both the FHIR DevDays as well as the recent presentation by Global Goods for global interoperability.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the membership fee? Membership fee is based on total revenue in order to encourage anti-trust. The fee covers the administrative costs for convening as well as communications.

  • Is there a “per seat license”? No. There is only one monthly fee and it covers all members.

  • What are the future workgroups? Currently, there is just a technical workgroup, but members have expressed interest in expanding to add measure developers as well as trainers and project managers. We intend to support that as the community needs.

  • What is the expectation for members? Members are expected to provide subject matter expertise and contribute actively to the open source community. All submissions will be credited through publicly available meeting minutes.
